Where your AI chats go
Orbit's small models, which sort your mail and find sign-in fields, run on your device. The models that answer in Orbit AI are far too big for that, so your conversations are answered in the cloud, by these companies.
- What the model's company sees
- Each message, with the conversation so far, your instructions, your memory notes and any files you attach, goes through OpenRouter to the one company that runs the model you picked, and never to another. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash on DeepInfra also reads the start of each Orbit to title it and, while memory is on, each new message to keep your notes.
- How long we keep it
- Your Orbits, their files, your Projects and your memory notes stay on our servers until you delete them. A deleted Orbit leaves the service at once, and our backups when they are replaced. Voice recordings are transcribed and not kept, and a file you attach but never send is deleted after a day.
- Encrypted on the way, not end to end
- Every connection uses HTTPS. But a model has to read what you ask, so conversations are stored in a form our servers can read. Your mail, chats and passwords are sealed on your device; Orbit AI conversations are not.
- Training
- We never train a model on your conversations, and never sell them. The companies that run the models process them to write each reply under their own terms, which decide what they log and for how long. If a conversation must not leave your hands, keep it out of Orbit AI.
