Changelog

What's new in Orbit

What changed in each Orbit app, newest first. The desktop apps update themselves, so most of this reaches you without doing anything.

    • Orbit Mail
      • Undo send, scheduled send, snooze and search, and importing old mail from .mbox and .eml files.
      • The desktop apps for Mac, Windows and Linux, and push notifications.
      • Sender logos (BIMI), and the inbox model that sorts your mail on your device.
      • A 12- or 24-hour clock for mail and calendar times.
    • Orbit Chat
      • @Orbit AI: mention it in a message and it answers that message.
      • Reactions, link previews, a Windows installer and Linux packages. A direct call now rings the other person.
    • Orbit AI

Attachments, memory, and the Starter plan.

    • Orbit Pass

Windows Hello unlock, a Linux build, and the browser extension published as open source.

    • Orbit IDE

Find and replace, language servers, and Linux packages.

    • Orbit MDM and Orbit RMM

First release: manage phones and computers, with remote terminal and desktop sessions.

    • Orbit Relay

Sender checks (SPF, DKIM, DMARC and BIMI), and health checks each node reports to Mission Control.

    • Mission Control

Business owners can turn off the Orbit apps their people don't use.

    • Orbit Browser

First release: Firefox's engine, with Orbit AI and Orbit Pass built in.

    • Orbit Mail

Orbit Calendar for iPhone and iPad, and mail carried over to your new key when you change your password.

    • Orbit Chat

Calls ring like phone calls on iPhone, even on the lock screen. Teammates appear before they first open Orbit Chat.

    • Orbit Pass

Website icons beside your logins, and updates for the Mac and Windows apps.

    • Mission Control

Changing your password or username signs you out of every Orbit app.

    • Orbit IDE

      Updates inside the app.

    • Orbit Mail
      • Orbit Mail for iPhone and iPad, with mail kept on the device to read offline.
      • Folders, Inbox rules, contacts, aliases and shared mailboxes. Drafts are saved, encrypted, as you type.
    • Orbit Pass

Orbit Authenticator, and the web vault for when your own devices aren't to hand.

    • Orbit Chat

A native iPhone and iPad app.

    • Mission Control
      • Sign out once and every Orbit app follows. Sign-in is by Orbit password only, since it makes your encryption keys.
      • Mail set up per person: usernames, mailboxes, aliases and shared mailboxes.
    • Orbit Relay

Version 3: every message is sealed to its readers' keys, and the relay installs on the host without Docker.

    • Orbit AI

Voice mode and dictation on Pro, Projects, web browsing, and the iPhone and iPad app.

    • Orbit Mail

End-to-end encryption: the relay seals every message to your key, with one encryption identity per person.

    • Orbit Chat

Your chat keys come from your Orbit password, so nothing asks you to unlock twice.

    • Orbit IDE

First release: Claude Code, Codex, Grok and OpenRouter in one editor.

    • Mission Control

Mail domains and Orbit's managed relay, and changing or resetting your password.

    • Orbit Mail

First version: an Outlook-style inbox, a calendar and a junk filter that explains itself.

    • Orbit AI

Orbit AI gets its name, signs in with Mission Control, and files Orbits into Projects.

On its way

  • The iPhone and iPad apps in the App Store. Each app's download page says whether it's live there yet.
  • Orbit Pass in the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons.
