Getting started

One Orbit account signs you in to every app. This page takes you from a new account to mail, chat and passwords working on your computer and your phone.

1. Create your account

Create a free account with your email address and a password. There's no card to enter.

Your password matters more here than anywhere else. Mission Control's sign-in page turns it into two keys in your browser: one signs you in, the other seals your mail, chats and vault, and neither the password nor that second key ever reaches us. That's why nobody can read your data, and also why nobody can recover it: if you forget the password and reset it, what was sealed with the old one can't be opened again. Change it any time while you know it and everything carries over. How the keys work

2. Personal or business

Your account starts personal. For a team, create a business from your profile in Mission Control and invite people. An account is one or the other: creating or joining a business replaces your personal account, after you confirm. A business pays for the licenses it assigns, with a minimum of two paid users. 3. Install the apps

  • On a Mac or a Windows PC, the Orbit Installer installs every Orbit desktop app at once; untick the ones you don't want. On Linux it's one command.
  • In your browser, add the Orbit Pass extension to fill passwords and codes. Orbit Browser has it built in.
  • On iPhone and iPad, the apps are on the way; each app's download page shows whether it's in the App Store yet. Until then, use Orbit in your phone's browser.
  • Anywhere, Orbit AI, Orbit Mail, Orbit Chat and the Orbit Pass vault also work on the web.

Every app signs in with the same Orbit account, and the desktop apps keep themselves up to date.

4. Set up mail

Orbit Mail is email and a calendar on a domain you own, from Starter up. Add the domain in Mission Control, publish the DNS records it shows, and give yourself (and your team) addresses on it. Then import your old mail. Domains and addresses · Import old mail

5. Bring your passwords

Export from your old password manager, import into Orbit Pass, and delete the export. Orbit Pass unlocks with your Orbit password; on your own devices, Face ID, Touch ID or Windows Hello unlock it after that. Import passwords

6. Start chatting

In a business, everyone is already in Orbit Chat. Make channels, call each other, and mention @Orbit AI in a message to ask it about that message. Messages, files and calls are encrypted on your devices.

7. Ask Orbit AI

Orbit AI is a chat with the model you pick, message by message. Free and Starter include the standard models; Pro and Max add the premium ones and voice. Orbit AI · How Orbit's AI handles your data
