Orbit MDM

Every Mac, iPhone, PC and Android you look after, in one place.

Enroll iPhones, iPads, Macs, Windows PCs and Android phones through each platform's own management, write a rule once, and Orbit MDM sends each device its own version of it. Lock, find or erase any of them from one page. Free for up to 10 devices.

  • iPhone, iPad and Mac
  • Windows 10 and 11
  • Android 10 and later
What it does

One place for every device you look after.

Whether that's a ten-person office, a cart of school iPads or the family's laptops.

Apple, the way Apple intends

Apple's MDM protocol, zero-touch through Apple Business Manager, supervised devices and App Store apps as licenses.

Windows with nothing to install

Windows' own MDM client, from Settings or a link. BitLocker, Defender, updates and apps.

Android Enterprise

Fully managed company phones from a QR code, and work profiles on personal ones.

One policy, every platform

Passcodes, encryption, updates, restrictions, Wi-Fi and apps, written once.

Lock, locate, erase

Lost mode, remote lock and erase, with the device's name typed to confirm.

Compliance at a glance

Every device against its policies, and FileVault recovery keys kept for you.

Write it once

A passcode rule becomes a profile, a CSP and an Android policy.

Policies are written once, for groups of devices or for all of them, and each platform gets its own form: a configuration profile on Apple devices, configuration service provider settings on Windows, an Android Enterprise policy on Android. A device only gets sent what changed, and its compliance is checked every time it reports in.

  • Passcodes, encryption, updates and the firewall. FileVault and BitLocker on, updates installed by a deadline.
  • Restrictions. Camera, screenshots, USB storage, AirDrop, app installs and removing management.
  • Wi-Fi and apps. Networks with their passwords kept sealed, App Store apps as licenses, managed Google Play and MSI installers.
  • Smart groups. Every Mac, every PC on Windows 10, every phone tagged "warehouse": new devices join the right ones as they enroll.
MDM and RMM together

Settings and health in the same place.

Orbit MDM started as a personal project, built around one complaint: other MDMs don't work well with RMM tools. Device management decides what a device is allowed to do; watching its health, patching it and running scripts on it usually means a second tool, with its own agent, its own console and its own bill. Here they're one.

One record per device

A Mac that's enrolled and runs the agent is one device, with its policies and compliance next to its health, patches and alerts.

The same groups for both

One set of device groups decides which policies, scripts and alerts each device gets. New devices land in the right ones as they enroll.

Add the agent when you want it

Phones and tablets need only MDM. On a computer, add the Orbit agent for monitoring, patching, scripts and full software inventory.

Built like the rest of Orbit

Built to be hard to abuse.

Software that can erase every device you own has to be careful about who's asking. Here's how Orbit MDM checks.

Devices prove who they are

Every Apple and Windows device carries a certificate from your Orbit MDM authority and signs what it sends. Revoked or forged certificates are refused.

Secrets sealed at rest

Keys, Apple and Google tokens, Wi-Fi passwords and FileVault recovery keys are encrypted in the database, not just behind a login.

Every action on the record

Who locked, erased or viewed a recovery key, and when, in an append-only activity log: entries are only ever added, never changed or deleted from the app.

Your Orbit sign-in

Do I need Apple Business Manager?
No. Devices can enroll from a link. Apple Business Manager adds zero-touch enrollment and supervision, which unlocks more restrictions and stops management being removed.
What does it see on a personal phone?
On a personal phone it manages a work profile (Android) or the profile it installed (Apple) and sees the model, OS and managed apps. Not messages, photos, browsing or personal apps' data.
Does Windows need an agent?
No. Windows 10 and 11 have an MDM client built in. Add the Orbit agent (Orbit RMM) for monitoring, scripts and full software inventory. (Windows 10 reached Microsoft's end of support in October 2025; Orbit MDM still manages it, but plan to move those PCs to Windows 11.)
Is Free actually free?
Yes. Every feature, up to 10 devices, no card and no end date. You only pay if you need more than 10, and then every device counts.
Does it work outside the office?
Yes. Devices check in over the internet, so they don't need to be on your network. Enroll a laptop or a phone wherever it is.
What happens if we stop paying?
You're back on Free. Devices stay enrolled and keep their settings. If you have more than 10, nothing new enrolls and no command goes out until you remove some or pick a plan again.
